For the first time during the existence of the enforcement police, a comfortable and well-equipped office was built which was especially adapted to their needs. The new building was opened by the Minister of Justice and the Chairman of the National Bureau of Enforcement.
The new police office is adapted both to the interests of employees and citizens. Separate spaces in the building are allocated for receiving consultation services and citizens. As a majority of LEPLs operating in the field of the Ministry of Justice, the building of enforcement police is also fully adapted to persons with disabilities.
The Minister of Justice addressed the police and the employees of National Bureau of Enforcement at the event and evaluated their activities. 11 policemen were awarded with a senior and junior state special rank for honestly performing the duties of the duty, and the two officers were thanked for their loyalty towards the job and fair performance of the tasks. The Minister of Justice noted that the enforcement police, along with the Parties Interests Protection Office and the social workers, focus on the protection and mediation of the parties' interests, which shows statistics of the cases completed by agreement. More than 80 percent of the eviction and dismantling cases of the National Bureau of Enforcement over the last five years has ended in agreement between the parties.
After opening of the new office, the Minister held a working meeting with executives and enforcement police officers, where he talked about the planned changes and innovations of the Enforcement Code.
The working group comprising representatives of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia and the National Bureau of Enforcement has been working on the new Enforcement Code for more than a year. The Code shall regulate procedures and enforcement actions related to enforcement proceedings; activities of state and private executives and all the enforcement issues that are not regulated by the current law. The group working on the Enforcement Code will complete working on the new project in the nearest future.
